rdp.monster Freezes All VPS and RDP Prices Through 2027 Despite Record DDR4 and DDR5 Memory Costs

The privacy-first hosting provider will bill every Windows RDP, Linux VPS and dedicated server plan in 2027 at the same prices it has charged since its 2023 launch, while server memory prices have more than doubled and OVHcloud and Hetzner have raised theirs.

FRANCE, 17 September 2026 — rdp.monster, a French provider of Windows RDP, Linux VPS and dedicated server hosting, today announced a price freeze covering the whole of 2027. From 1 January to 31 December 2027, every plan on rdp.monster will be billed at exactly the price published today, which is also the price the company has charged since it opened in May 2023.

The commitment applies to new orders and renewals alike, to every billing cycle, and to every payment method accepted by the host, including Bitcoin, Monero, USDT, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Capitalist and SBP, with no surcharge. Entry-level Windows RDP and Linux VPS plans remain at $8.99 per month.

A year of memory-driven price increases

The announcement comes as the cost of the two components that define a virtual server, RAM and NVMe storage, has risen faster than at any point in the past decade. According to TrendForce, server DDR4 and DDR5 contract prices rose 53 to 58 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025 and approximately 90 percent in the first quarter of 2026, with a further 58 to 63 percent increase forecast for the second quarter. NAND flash contract prices rose 70 to 75 percent in the second quarter of 2026.

Both memory generations are affected. DDR4, the generation most VPS plans still run on, is being phased out by the major manufacturers, who announced the end-of-life of their legacy DDR4 lines in 2025 to free capacity for DDR5 and high-bandwidth memory; DDR4 4Gb prices rose more than 20 percent in March 2026 alone and the DDR4 8Gb spot price reached a record $42.50 per chip on 10 August 2026. DDR5 is being absorbed by AI data centers: a 64 GB DDR5-5600 kit that cost $191 in August 2025 cost $1,118 in August 2026, according to the Tom’s Hardware RAM price index.

Hosting providers have started passing these costs on. OVHcloud raised its VPS prices by 44 to 122 percent on 1 April 2026 and has announced increases of up to 87 percent on dedicated servers from September 2026. Hetzner raised its prices on 1 April 2026 and again on 15 June 2026, citing component costs.

Why rdp.monster is holding its prices

rdp.monster says three things make the freeze possible: a fully automated operation, in which customers sign up with an email address only, without identity verification, and receive their server about ten seconds after payment confirms; capacity planned over multi-year cycles rather than bought at spot prices; and a long-standing policy of never applying renewal markups, under which the price shown at sign-up is the price paid for the life of the subscription.

“Our customers choose us because we are predictable: no KYC, no surprise fees, no renewal games,” said the rdp.monster founding team. “A memory shortage is not their problem, it is ours to manage. Committing publicly to our 2023 prices for the whole of 2027 is the clearest way to say that.”
