Can You Buy Crypto With PayPal on ChangeHero?
Yes. The fiat widget now takes PayPal payments, processed by MoonPay, which joins Mercuryo and FinchPay as the third fiat provider.
Where PayPal works depends on MoonPay. According to MoonPay’s PayPal FAQ, it is available in the US, the UK and the EU, except Croatia, Hungary and Iceland. The PayPal and MoonPay accounts must be registered in the same country, and the MoonPay account needs a verified phone number. PayPal purchases use USD, EUR or GBP, matched to the account’s region. MoonPay’s June 2024 announcement lists PayPal balance, direct bank withdrawal and debit card as funding options. The FAQ states that credit cards linked to PayPal are not supported.

How Many Assets Can You Now Buy With Fiat?
Up to 170 assets can now be bought directly with fiat, after roughly 80 were added to the widget. The crypto-to-crypto swap catalog stays at 350+ assets.

What Can UK Buyers Use to Buy Crypto With a Bank Transfer or Card?
UK buyers can now pay by GBP bank transfer through MoonPay, in addition to card payments, without converting sterling first.
A bank transfer suits buyers whose bank restricts card payments to crypto platforms. Debit and credit cards remain available through the providers that support them, under each provider’s terms. PayPal is also open to UK users under the MoonPay rules above.
What Do MoonPay Balance and Mercuryo Boost Change on Fees?
MoonPay Balance charges a 0% processing fee on purchases paid from a pre-funded balance, and Mercuryo Boost returns points as cashback. Neither removes network fees.
With MoonPay Balance, the buyer deposits funds with MoonPay in advance and pays from that balance. Mercuryo Boost points accrue from the first purchase and need no sign-up. Mercuryo sets the conversion rates and thresholds, which vary by geography, payment method and purchase amount.
Providers set fees, limits and verification rules, and can change them. Check the checkout screen before paying.
