Why did iQor donate over 400 computers to 53 Philippine schools?

iQor, a managed services provider of customer engagement and technology-enabled business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions, said on Friday that it has partnered with Rapid Tech to donate more than 400 refurbished computers to 53 public schools in Angeles City. The aim is to equip students with essential digital tools for academic success while promoting environmental sustainability.

iQor said that it combined with Rapid Tech to prepare each unit for immediate use, clearing drives, installing new Windows operating systems, and equipping each one with a keyboard and mouse.

Officer Fleurette Navarro, iQor Chief People, said that education and youth empowerment are the keys to growth and that they decided to donate the computers because they want to give back to society and are happy with the opportunities these computers will give the children.

“Education and youth development are cornerstones for growth. This donation is a testament to iQor’s commitment to support the communities in which we operate and our dedication to empower students with the technology they need to succeed. We’re driven by our Need to Give Back and are thrilled about the opportunities these computers will offer local children,” said Navarro.

iQor Philippines Country Lead Rod Hoddinott commented, saying that by donating the computers they wish to motivate and encourage students in Angeles City to reach their dreams.

“This initiative reflects iQor’s unwavering commitment to create opportunities for the next generation. By providing these essential tools, we hope to inspire and equip students in Angeles City to reach their full potential,” Hoddinott commented.

The donation event took place on Wednesday at the Department of Education Gabaldon Office Building in Angeles City. iQor Philippines Country Lead Rod Hoddinott and iQor Chief People Officer Fleurette Navarro were joined by Clark Angeles Vice Mayor Maria Vicenta Vega; City Attorney Raphaela Kercee Vendel Pineda Lazatin; Asst. Division Schools Superintendent Enrique Angeles Jr.; and Senior Education Program Specialist Alberto Otchengco. Rapid Tech General Manager Kristin Santos also attended.

The computer donations are part of the combined effort between the Department of Education and the business community to support digital learning in the region. The Department of Education identified the need for these computers in the schools, ensuring every public school in Angeles City will benefit from this donation. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and empower students and teachers with the tools necessary for a more dynamic and interactive learning experience while promoting environmental sustainability through the preservation of computer hardware, iQor said.
